Artist’s Note: The pandemic forced me to receive more cardboard boxes than ever before, and I wanted to make some paintings and drawings that were low-risk. I am a mom of two young kids, and I can work easily on each piece when looking after wild toddlers. Each painting is a reaction to the moment, whether to what the dicks in charge are doing right now or to the changes to my garden as each season passes. I often use repetition, pattern, and surface design because of an interest in the ornate and decorative, as well as swarm theory, group mentality, and the like.
