Artist’s Note: A More Perfect Union is a flag made of compressed earth for a nation in tumult. Its fifty holes allow light to shine through an otherwise impenetrable plane. Existing in a vulnerable state of slow but inevitable change. The flag flies for a country whose tainted glory has faded and whose full promise is yet to come.
