Artist’s Note: The storage container sits at the far side of the parking lot, near Clark street and the tracks. Year after year the old graffiti had made an unsettling entrance to the school. In a recent effort to clean up the parking lot, the principal of the school granted me permission to make something new, out of the old storage container. Using it as a canvas, at dusk, with limited supplies from the day. Something new was created, offering hope, and new life to the passerby, the school, and the community. The art is on private property but can be viewed from the surrounding sidewalks and roadways.
