Artist’s Note: My paintings are a series of translucent and semi opaque pours which together reference abstraction and the natural world as well as convey emotion. When I articulate the first gesture of a mark on the canvas that mark influences the placement of the second mark so in this way the approach is performative. I have an internal dialogue with the canvas through materials and use materials as an aesthetic language to express my emotions.
